The area

The Rise is set on the banks of the famous River Tyne, right on the western edge of Newcastle – just three miles from the city centre and less than a mile from the A1 - the main road linking the North East to the rest of the UK.

Newcastle International Airport is less than 15 miles away and ferries to Europe regularly leave the Port of Tyne – a similar distance to the east.

The development is in the Benwell/Scotswood ward of Newcastle City Council and has a population of around 14,000 – just over 5% of the city’s total.  The profile of this population is generally young, with over 60% of people being under 45 and over half of these under 25.
