Local amenities

A neighbourhood centre will be created which will include new shops, a doctors surgery and a pharmacy. There is already an abundance of local amenities close to the site.

Educational needs are met at the Bridgewater and St Bede’s Roman Catholic Primary Schools, the recently built Excelsior Academy and St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School.

The Rise is in close proximity to areas of open space including the recently refurbished Hodgkin Park and the Benwell Nature Park, while Hadrian’s Way - a walking and cycling route is located at the edge of the development.

The area is well served by local bus services and the trip along Scotswood Road to Newcastle city centre is just five minutes by car, as well as the A1 which is minutes away giving immediate access to the Metrocentre, Team Valley and Northumberland.
